LG 3D LCD TV Released in Korea


LG has plan to release its first 3D LCD, the 47-inch 47LH50, in South Korea next month. The 3D LCD allows you to enjoy 3D effects without the need of PC with additional 3D video cards. You just need to wear the polarized light eye-glasses. No word on pricing so far.

The FH001 is a new design from Ferguson Hill that produces 3 to 50 watts. It was made of clear acrylic and have a ultra high efficiency design. The FH001 transparent speakers are not cheap. Its spherical subwoofer retails a hefty $26,000.

Samsung Introduces Its WiMAX MID ‘Mondi’ In Korea


Samsung Electronics has introduced its new mobile WiMAX enabled handheld device during World IT Show 2009 in Korea. Dubbed as the Mondi, this portable device integrates a 4.3-inch full touchscreen display, a full QWERTY slide keyboard, a 3MP camera, GPS function, WiFi, Bluetooth and runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Not to mention, it also comes packed with multimedia features that offer instant access to E-mail, Internet, video content and business applications. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and release date yet.


Sony Launches VAIO NW 15.5" Notebook With Blu-Ray For $880


The Sony VAIO NW is the latest 15-incher notebook from Sony that comes with a reasonable price tag. Priced at $880 upwards, this stylish machine offers a 15.5-inch widescreen HD display with 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card, a 4GB RAM, a 400GB hard drive, a 1.3MP webcam, a Blu-ray drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, an HDMI port, 3x USB ports, an ExpressCard port, a microSD card slot, a memory stick PROTM slot and Windows Vista OS. The VAIO NW notebook will hit the markets starting this month in three lovely colors namely walnut brown, birch white and rattan silver.

Nokia N97 And N86 8MP Released In The UK


The highly anticipated Nokia N97 and N86 are now available in the UK. The N97 is going to be exclusively on sale through Nokia stores for one week and from June 26 it will be available through many retailers and carriers including Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange, 3 Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U. For £499 (€589 or $820) you’ll be able to get your hands on the unlocked version of Nokia N97, while the unlocked N86 8MP can be bought for £399 (€470 or $656).

Acer Unveils Eco-Friendly LCDs Reducing Power Consumption By 36%


Acer Japan has rolled out two new eco-friendly LCD monitors in the form of the V193WBbmd and V223WBbmd (pictured above). Both of them are energy efficient displays, reducing power consumption by almost 36%. As for the specs itself, both monitors feature 5ms response time, 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 300cd/m2 brightness. The main difference is that the V193WBbmd only comes with a 19-inch display with 1,440 x 900 resolution, meanwhile, the V223WBbmd offers a bigger 22-inch display with 1,680 x 1,050 resolution. The Acer V193WBbmd and V223WBbmd are priced at $185 and $236 respectively.

What makes this earphone special is that it features vibration functionality for bodily sensation and adopts the company’s exclusive vibe-sound function. World’s First USB Monitor for Notebooks from Samsung


Samsung has presented the LD220 during World IT Show 2009 in Korea. It is touted as the world’s first USB monitor for laptops. The LD220 provides a brightness level of 300cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 30,000:1 and a response speed of 5ms. Pricing or availability info are still unavailable.

Samsung S5600 Available On Orange


The highly anticipated Samsung S5600 (aka Preston) is now available for purchase in the UK via Orange. You’ll be able to get your hands on this mid-range touchscreen handset for £159.50 ($258) on pay as you go, or for free if you sign a 24-month contract agreement (a monthly plan of at least £20 is required). In case you’ve forgotten, the S5600 offers a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display with 240 x 320 resolution, a 3.2MP camera with video recording at 15fps, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, an FM radio, an accelerometer sensor, an 80MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1 and supports HSDPA connectivity.

Transcend SSD25D Solid State Drive


Transcend has released a new SSD25D Solid State Drive that provides up 64MB of integrated DRAM cache and comes in 60GB and 120GB storage space. The drive boasts transfer speeds of up to 230MB/s read and 180MB/s write and around 1ms latency. The SSD25D also features an industry-standard 3.0Gb/s SATA II interface and 2.5-inch form factor to allow easy and straightforward user installation in most notebooks and desktop computers, just like a conventional hard drive. The SSD’s low power consumption and silent operation will increase efficiency and longer battery runtime for laptops.

Toshiba’s Latest Qosmio G50 Notebook


Toshiba has plan to release its new Qosmio notebook in Japan next month. Known as the Qosmio G50W/95JW, the 18.4-inch notebook comes jam packed with a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 processor, a 4GB of RAM, an Intel PM45 Express Chipset, a 500GB of HDD, Full HD resolution display, and an nVidia GeForce 9600M GT with 512MB of VRAM. You should have at least 304,800 Yen ($3,145) to bring home the Toshiba G50W/95JW.

LG's Music Player Phone


Here's LG's latest music player (Walkman) phone the LG-GM310, LG-GM210, and LG-GM205 (name depends on the mobile operator)… Besides the classic 2Mpix camera module, it features 4GB internal memory, USB 2.0 storage support, a 2.1 stereo speaker (with subwoofer), high-end LG sound engine, and Dolby Mobile engine.

First Barebone PC From Shuttle To Support AMD Socket AM3 Processors


Shuttle PC just introduced a new mini-PC in the form of the SA76G2, which is the first barebone that support AMD socket AM3 processors using the 760G chipset, including the Phenom II and original Phenom, Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64 and Sempron CPUs. The computer supports two DDR2 DIMM slots for up to 8GB of RAM and is backwards-compatible with AM2 and AM2+ CPUs. The ATI Radeon 3000 onboard graphics chipset is capable of driving two separate displays, while the PC’s PCI Express 2.0 slot can accommodate a separate graphics card. Other features include six USB 2.0 ports, a PS2 port, a VGA port, a DVI connection and audio input and output. Measuring 11.8-inch x 7.9-inch x 7.3-inch, the mini-PC comes with a 250W power supply with heatpipe cooling. The Shuttle SA76G2 is now available for $265.

National Geographic Releases Dual SIM Duet Travel Phone

National Geographic and Cellular Abroad have collaborated to launch a new dual SIM handset which is dubbed as the National Geographic Duet Travel Phone (model name D888). The handset features a National Geographic pay-as-you-go SIM card that allows you make affordable calls from no less than 185 countries, and receive free calls in over 80 countries. The phone also supports a secondary SIM card of your choice. Sadly, this Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) phone lacks of 3G support. Other features include a 2.8-inch QVGA display, a mobile TV, Bluetooth, an FM radio, a VGA camera with video recording, a 1GB MicroSD card, and a pre-loaded National Geographic content (ringtones, videos, wallpapers). The National Geographic Duet Travel Phone is now available at Cellular Abroad, Amazon, Expansys USA and various other retailers for around $199.

LG GW550 Windows Mobile Smartphone


LG has announced a new business-oriented smartphone at CommunicAsia 2009. Dubbed as the GW550, the phone comes in a candybar form-factor and features front-facing QWERTY keyboard, that reminds me of the Nokia E71x. The LG GW550 also has a non-touch-sensitive 2.4-inch display with QVGA resolution, a 3MP camera, stereo speakers, HSDPA 7.2Mbps (HSUPA 2.0Mbps) connectivity and 1300mAh battery. Sadly, there is no word on pricing or availability at this time.

Samsung VC240 LCD Monitor


Samsung will release its new VC240 LCD monitor this Fall 2009. The 24-inch LCD screen boasts an integrated 5-megapixel webcam for HD desktop video conferencing. Priced at $1,999, this LCD screen is also compatible with virtually all VoIP systems and SIP control units, so you can use this as business communications tool. All video will be compressed in H.264 codec. Other features include a noise-canceling microphone, and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio.

iRiver Dicple D7 Palm-sized Electronic Dictionary Released in Korea


iRiver has launched its palm-sized electronic dictionary in South Korea. Dubbed as the Dicple D7, the gadget supports a 3-inch touchscreen LCD that supports handwriting recognition, video playback at 30fps, SRS WOW HD sound driver, an FM radio, a Flash player, a PDF viewer, a text/photo viewer, a recording function and a micro SD card slot. This electronic dictionary also features Encyclopaedia Britannica and 24 different kinds of dictionary with authentic native-speaker voice. The 4GB and 8GB models are priced at 268,000 Won and 308,000 Won, respectively.
